Black Lion Audio’s Eighteen starts with a vintage-inspired preamplifier, delivering a creamy yet punchy response. It’s complemented by a passive inductor EQ and output controls to push analog stages to overdrive nirvana, while respecting your converters and DAW.

The Eighteen’s preamplifier circuit is not a simple clone, but a tribute to some of the most classic designs ever made. That’s why Black Lion created the BLA1831: a custom discrete op-amp, created after an extensive period of component testing – creating exceptional vintage sound, while maintaining comparable noise levels to that of more modern equipment.

The Eighteen offers a sublime passive equalizer with a Cinemag inductor specially designed for the Eighteen that you will love! The results are astonishing: a quiet, ultra-flexible EQ that delivers the unique mojo of popular program EQs.

The Eighteen’s features don’t stop there: it also has a custom-wound Cinemag transformer for output, as well as an output gain control to push the unit up to magnificent overdrive. Black Lion Audio designed, manufactured, assembled and hand tested each unit in the USA.
