Each port among the 8 available can be configured as either MIDI input or MIDI output, thus not only replacing the traditional MIDI interfaces with 4 inputs and 4 outputs of its popular predecessors, but also offering other flexible configurations. For example, you can use up to 8 outputs simultaneously, or up to 8 inputs, or even a combination like 6 outputs and 2 inputs. The best part? This is all handled automatically based on your connections to other MIDI devices, with each input/output configuration automatically indicated by colored LEDs on the front panel.

The M4U eX isn’t just one of the world’s first USB 3.0 MIDI interfaces; it also integrates a USB 3.0 hub with 3 additional ports for connecting other USB equipment like software dongles or USB keyboards. This truly makes it the central hub for your MIDI and USB musical instrument devices. The class-compliant device can be powered by the USB bus or, if necessary for other USB devices, by the included DC power supply.
